Hi! My name is Carmelo Tartaro, I’m a 21 years old student of Italian Literature and I’m from Palermo.
In July I took part in an interesting project based on global conflicts: “Conflicts Everywhere”. This cultural exchange took place in Iasi, a joyful and colorful city in Romania, where I spent 7 magic days with youngsters from Macedonia, Romania, Spain, Lithuania, Armenia and Italy.
During the exchange I had the opportunity to discuss and compare my ideas with others, living an intense week of absolute individual and collective growth. The daily life was a continuous source of happiness and creativity: there was no distance between us and we created a perfect atmosphere to cooperate with creative ideas and share with passion our different cultures and traditions.
It’s hard to explain how you can feel so close to people from so far away countries, (in just one week!).
Some people can give you in 7 days what other people have never given you in an entire life! I felt good vibes and positive energies, I felt our strenght, I saw a brighter future in our eyes: this experience gave me new hopes to change, togheter, step by step, something in this mad world.
I’m grateful to “Per Esempio” and its brilliant staff because I felt on my skin the trust they put in me, just with a smile. They really believe in youth mobility and education, fighting against every kind of discrimination to build a society based on multiculturalism, respect, freedom of movement and advancement of human rights.
Multumesc, grazie, thanks, really thanks for making me a better man!
