In 2013, during one of my last Arabic lesson at the University, Luisa and Ernesto arrived and presented a youth exchange (YIA) named “A sea of culture”. These guys, unknown for me, were looking for 8 participants that will be protagonists of a cultural exchange-experience with 8 young Egyptians. Enthusiastic for this idea, I decided to apply at Per Esempio; there Luisa and Ernesto explained me what I would have to do. So, the first week of July I was the protagonist of a very adventure: new people, different cultures, languages, foods and traditions, various kinds of activities, sharing of common experiences and, above all, strong relationships both with the participants and the whole staff of Per Esempio. For this reason, a few months ago, I decided to start my internship at Per Esempio; even this experience has been wonderful because I got in touch with the reality of non-profit organizations.
this experience has been wonderful because I got in touch with the reality of non-profit organizations.
During these three months I experienced what lay behind that youth exchange and much more; in particular I worked in the field of European and socio-educational project management and I wrote a youth exchange (Erasmus+ Key Action 1) about the phenomenon of migration and interculturality. At the end of this experience I can say that I’ve learnt very much from every member of the staff both at professional and personal level.
