Overview
Bridging Borders (BB) is a dynamic 24-month project designed to engage young EU citizens and residents aged 16-30 in a comprehensive awareness campaign. Our mission is to highlight the importance of EU solidarity in combating polarization and fragmentation, ultimately fostering a more cohesive and engaged community. We place special emphasis on the social inclusion of young people with migrant backgrounds across 10 EU countries, including Italy, Malta, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, and Greece.
Events
Key Activities
BB will implement a variety of initiatives in 11 cities to deepen understanding of migration processes and integration. Our activities will include:
Workshops and Discussions: Facilitating conversations about EU solidarity in response to migration.
Best Practices Exchange: Sharing successful strategies for supporting migrants and refugees.
Capacity Building: Strengthening cooperation between civil society organizations (CSOs) and public institutions.
Goals
Through our efforts, we aim to achieve the following:
Empower Young Citizens: Equip young people with reliable information to counter polarization and encourage active participation in democratic life.
Enhance Understanding of Solidarity Mechanisms: Foster a shared awareness of current solidarity practices within local, national, and international contexts.
Promote Collaboration: Increase cooperation among CSOs and public authorities to raise awareness of EU solidarity.
Support Policy Initiatives: Advocate for EU policies that enhance citizen engagement in solidarity efforts.
Target Audience
Our primary focus is on young people aged 16-30, particularly those facing discrimination or exclusion. Given their historically low participation rates in democratic processes, our project aims to stimulate civic engagement among this demographic.
Impact
We expect at least 1,800 direct participants and over 5,500 indirect beneficiaries through social media outreach. Additionally, we will involve around 200 key stakeholders from CSOs, public authorities, and youth organizations.
Join us in our mission to bridge borders and cultivate a more inclusive European community where solidarity thrives!
