The IN.T.E.S.T.A. project – Intervento Educativo per lo Sviluppo e la Tutela dell’Adolescenza – will be implemented in the Albergheria-Palazzo Reale neighborhood of Palermo and will focus on adolescents aged 11 to 18 living in the area. The project envisions the creation of a widespread socio-educational hub through the networking of associations, schools, community centers, and institutions.
A multidisciplinary team will be established to ensure constant communication among the involved entities and to strategically guide access to the services and interventions outlined in the project.
Four main actions are planned, which will take place within the neighborhood—inside and around schools, in community centers, and in hospitals.
One of the long-term transformative goals is to consolidate an inter-institutional network that validates a multi-level intervention model for the care and support of the psycho-social and educational well-being of young people.
Among the project’s main objectives is the strengthening of the neighborhood’s territorial educational hub in Albergheria, reinforcing its crucial role in safeguarding adolescents’ right to health and mental well-being. Particular attention will be given to situations of social, cultural, and economic vulnerability, involving schools, families, the third sector, and institutions in a community-based, integrated, and systemic model of prevention and care.
