CirculART-e

The CirculART-e project aims to use the power of art, creativity and visual education to help young people at risk of social exclusion due to cultural, social and economic obstacles to develop their sense of resourcefulness and active participation in a society that promotes “the circular lifestyle”.

The objectives of the project are: to help young people develop their sense of resourcefulness through the “Empathymapping” method and through creative workshops; to promote the active participation of young people in their communities, particularly young people at risk of exclusion through “circular” and community-based initiatives; to increase the skills of youth workers to respond to the needs of young people at risk of exclusion through creative and blended learning methodologies based on visual arts education and the culture of the circular economy in online and offline contexts.

The CirculART-e method is based on the “culture of the circular economy” as an ecological lifestyle based on recycling and the “reuse of identities, skills, environment”. A blended learning curriculum will provide know-how in the field of online and offline visual creation, video storytelling and digital tools to increase employment opportunities and active participation of young people at risk of social exclusion. The beneficiaries of the project are young people at risk of social, cultural and/or economic exclusion, but also young workers, youth organizations and stakeholders who support and promote opportunities for young people. The planned activities are: needs analysis through the use of the “Empathymapping” method; local mixed-methods art workshops; an international training for youth workers on mixed visual education practices; an international training for youth workers to learn how to co-design educational video tutorials; an international training to test the CirculART-e curriculum; an international conference in France to disseminate the results and experience of the project.

The outputs developed by the project are: a needs analysis report; an “empathy map” of young people’s abilities and desires; a guide for digital training and the creation of artistic content; a curriculum for youth workers based on the mixed method of CirculART-e.
