School Goes Green

School goes green is a project aimed at students between the ages of 14 and 17, attending the “Liceo Regina Margherita” in Palermo, which offers the opportunity to participate in a volunteer training experience to encourage active participation and the development of sustainable lifestyles. Through these pathways, students will have the opportunity to learn about the work of local associations working on three macro-themes (biodiversity protection, social justice, and circular economy), deepen their understanding of the goals of the European Green Deal, and broaden their knowledge on the topic of volunteering.

Students will experience a guided path in which there will be: an info day aimed at the entire student community, a workshop before and after the 20 hours of volunteering in the association, and a final restitution event in which they will present a final product encapsulating the work done during the path.

Per Esempio will be in charge of coordinating activities and supporting the volunteers before, during and after the volunteering period, together with the “Students Committee” and with the support of the teachers.

Other outputs of the project include the creation of a document of recommendations on how to implement volunteer experiences (Green Guide), a podcast led by the student committee to be launched through their web radio channel, and a video storytelling produced by Per Esempio that will include all volunteering experiences.

The initiative is supported through the European ACCTING project, aimed at promoting increasingly inclusive and equal societies, in line with the European Green Deal.
